About Me
My name is Kathy Jean (Sherrell) Crabtree. I have been married to my husband, Hollis, since 2000. We’ve built a life together centered on family, faith, hard work, and community. We are the proud parents of two children—our oldest graduated from Coffee County Central High School in 2023, and our youngest is currently attending Coffee County Middle School and has attended a Coffee County school since he was 3 years old.
We live on a farm just over the Cannon County line, about 2.5 miles from Coffee County, and although our address may not reflect it, our hearts and lives are very much centered here. Coffee County is where we shop, attend community events, and most importantly, where we chose to raise and educate our children.
I began my teaching career in January of 2001 in Cannon County, and I have now been driving into Coffee County to work for the past 12.5 years. That daily drive is not a burden—it’s a commitment I’ve made to the students, staff, and families of this community. I plan to continue that drive every day until the day I retire. Being an educator is more than a job for me; it’s a calling that has shaped much of who I am.
Although I was not raised in Coffee County, I have deep generational ties to this area. My grandparents were part of the Sherrell and Lewis families from the Goose Pond and Beechgrove area. Their legacy is part of what grounds me here and fuels my desire to give back to this place that has become home.
Through my years in education, I’ve come to appreciate the impact strong schools have on a community's fabric. I’m proud to be part of that work and thankful to serve in a place where the values of connection, hard work, and caring for one another still hold strong. I’m invested not only as a teacher and administrator but also as a parent, a neighbor, and someone who genuinely wants to see this community and its children thrive.
